Expansion
The 2017 expansion of our base of operations in Sheffield has allowed the continued growth of the site’s workforce to now over 100 employees.
Here are some key highlights of our employment journey.
Family and Friends
A large part of the Vulcan Seals employment ethos is to promote from within and to encourage recruitment of family and friends.
15% of our staff in Sheffield are family members of an existing employee, with many more being referred as friends.
Apprentices
Another core part of our employment ethos is to invest now for our future, by recruiting staff as early as possible in their careers.
We currently employ 5 apprentices in Sheffield across multiple departments, including Technical, Sales, IT and Production. 4 of which were recruited in 2018.
Each apprentice has responsibilities tailored to the dual needs of the business and to their studies. We encourage them to learn and add to their skills and qualifications, whilst gaining real work experience in a supportive environment.
Every new employee at Vulcan Seals is appointed a mentor to guide them through the first part of their journey with us, and to ensure they are fully prepared for the key role they will play in the company’s future.
