The Vulcan Seals Type 1699 GEA® Tuchenhagen® design double-ended, ‘O’-ring mounted hygienic seals to suit Variflow® TPseries pumps are fitted with circulation systems requiring a double seal.
For standard pumps without this feature please see the Vulcan Seals Type 1691 GEA® Tuchenhagen® for the suitable single seal design. In common with the single seal, the inboard product side rotary of the Vulcan Seals Type 1699 GEA® Tuchenhagen® is located directly onto a specifically machined area of the pump shaft.
Available in two shaft sizes, in hygienic standard specified materials.
The Vulcan Seals Type 1699 GEA® Tuchenhagen® inboard product side rotary, which has a single seal, is located directly on a portion of the pump shaft that has been specially machined.


The Vulcan Seals Type XX11 Fristam® are direct replacement seal repair kits to suit Fristam® FK and FL- series rotary lobe pumps. This distinctive seal design is unique to this series of pumps. The Vulcan Seals parts are interchangeable with the originals to assist maintenance on these now obsolete but durable pumps.
The Vulcan Seals XX11 Fristam® is a kit that includes two sets of seal faces, seal 'O'-rings, shaft 'O'-ring and lobe seals. Only one part needs to be ordered to repair both seals and shafts in each pump. If a complete seal unit is required containing all the metal components as well as seal faces please see the Vulcan Seals Type XX10 Fristam®. If a repair kit including the lip seals for a flush pump ir required, add an "F" character after the final digit, so "Y-3011/3.VIT" would become "Y-3011/3F.VIT".
It is a direct replacement design to suit the original equipment, produced to Vulcan Seals’ manufacturing standards. The kits contain parts to repair two seals, so only one repair kit is required for each pump repair.


The Vulcan Seals Type XX10 Fristam® are direct replacement complete seals to suit Fristam® FL- series rotary lobe pumps. This distinctive seal design is unique to this series of pumps. The Vulcan Seals parts are interchangeable with the originals to assist maintenance on these now obsolete but durable pumps.
The Vulcan Seals XX10 Fristam® is a complete seal unit sold individually, and includes the seal faces, spacer rings, wave spring and seal housing. Two units need to be ordered if both seals in a pump are to be replaced. The Vulcan Seals Type 1688Z S.P.X. Johnson® is a single wave-spring seal with distinctive bi-elastomeric (twin 'O'-Ring) stationaries located into the stationary recess of this range of rotary lobe pumps. Each pump will require two seals, one for each drive shaft to the twin rotary lobes.


The Vulcan Seals Type 962 Nakakin® / Wild-Indag® is an ‘O’-ring mounted single spring seal with interlocking drive plates to suit Nakakin® or Wild-Indag® line mixer pumps.
This equipment is commonly utilised in food, dairy, and beverage processes particularly yogurt and sauces where blending of the product during transfer is required.
The Vulcan Seals Type 295 S.P.X.® A.P.V.® is intended as a direct alternative to the original OEM design, produced to Vulcan Seals manufacturing standards.

The Vulcan Seals Type 24B is a resilient, rubber diaphragm mounted parallel spring seal design with self-adjusting head to accommodate minor shaft misalignment and run-out.
The seal drive is provided by the diaphragm bellows tightly gripping the shaft and providing positive drive to the seal head and sealing face. The Vulcan Seals diaphragm seal designs are bi-directional "pusher" seals that minimise shaft fretting as the spring is constantly providing energising force to the shaft contact point and sealing face.

The Vulcan Seals Type 96N has a narrow cross-section seal head and heavy-duty spring in a design that is optimised for performance and durability and highly suited to marine pump applications.
The seal drive is provided by the split ring tightly gripping the equipment shaft with the flat washer providing a suitable contact point to set the seal operating length. Parallel spring 'O'-ring mounted seals are mono-directional and have differential part codes for clockwise or anti-clockwise operation.
The Vulcan Seals Type 96N complete seal is supplied with the Vulcan Seals Type 95N 'O'-ring-mounted stationary without anti-rotation provision.


The Vulcan Seals Type 95N seal is a robust, 'O'-ring mounted "pusher" seal design with parallel spring and either monolithic stainless steel or interference fitted sealing faces. The Vulcan Seals Type 95N has a narrow cross-section seal head and heavy-duty spring in a design that is optimised for performance and durability and highly suited to marine pump applications.
The seal drive is provided by the parallel spring tightly gripping a step or boss on the equipment shaft. Parallel spring 'O'-ring mounted seals are mono-directional and have differential part codes for clockwise or anti-clockwise operation.
The Vulcan Seals Type 95N complete seal is supplied with the Type 95N 'O'-ring-mounted stationary without anti-rotation provision.


The Vulcan Seals Type 192L is a robust elastomer bellows "non-pusher" design, with wide radial profile and high flexibility to readily accommodate service misalignment and provide extended resilience and durability in service.
The seal drive is provided by the elastomer bellows tightly gripping the shaft from a contact point under the coil end, providing bi-directional "non-pusher" performance that minimises shaft fretting.
Supplied with a Vulcan Seals Type 8.DINL 'O'-ring-mounted stationary to suit DIN24960/EN12756 seal chamber housings with anti-rotation provision to suit high-torque applications such as viscous or high solids medias.


The Vulcan Seals Type 1637 Watson-Marlow® Masosine® is intended to suit Certa® series sine pumps and is available with PTFE or Viton sealed silicon carbide rotaries with silicon carbide or carbon-faced 'O'-ring mounted stationary parts.
The Vulcan Seals Type 1637 Watson-Marlow® Masosine® is a direct replacement mechanical seal to suit the current generation of pumps. For previous SPS ranges of sine pumps, please see the Vulcan Seals Type 1635 information.


The Vulcan Seals Type 21/31 Non-DIN 'O'-ring Seats are O'-ring mounted, monolithic H configuration stationaries, to suit common European housings (Vulcan Seals Type 21) or common American (Vulcan Seals Type 31) housing dimensions.
These stationaries provide the benefits of both a short fitting length with a rear face pinhole, thus being able to be pinned throughout the size range. This provides an optional anti-rotation feature within a seat of short operational length.


The Vulcan Seals Clamp Rings, are stainless Steel, set-screw mounted locking collars for setting the working length of a non-set screw-mounted seal on a long seal chamber. Available in all common imperial and metric shaft sizes.
A comprehensive range is offered from stock and any size can be manufactured. All shaft sizes of Type SPEC.CLAM are fitted with set screws evenly separated as shown below, for secure fitting.
Vulcan Seals clamp rings are simply coded with the size code from the table below followed by “.SPEC. CLAM”; eg 25mm is part code “0250.SPEC.CLAM.


The Vulcan Seals Type 25 Gasket Clamped ‘V’ stationary is an industry-standard design with a 'T' shaped profile, supplied complete with two PTFE flat gaskets, for clamping as illustrated. For shaft sizes up to 1.000”/25mm; please add 1.60mm to dimension L2 for the gasket’s width, similarly, add 3.20mm for shaft sizes 1.125”/28.00mm and above.
It is designed for medias that are aggressive towards elastomers and is widely utilised with Type 1609/1645/1659 series multi-spring rotaries.


The Vulcan Seals DIN/Non-DIN Boot-Mounted Seats, are common boot-mounted stationary designs, to fit and suit a variety of international housing and working length standards.
Boot-mounted stationaries offers optimum cost and performance benefits. The ribbed profile and increased elastomer contact area with the housing are often preferred.


The Vulcan Seals Type 23 PTFE Boot-Mounted Seats, are L-shaped PTFE boot-mounted stationary, to suit common American housing sizes.
Due to the low friction nature of PTFE, this stationary set has been designed with an anti-rotation provision, and it is recommended to ensure this is utilised. Widely used in chemical process equipment, due to the exceptional chemical resistance that can be provided.


The Vulcan Seals Type 32 Push-Fit “Block” Seats are monolithic stationary rings, with an ‘O’-ring installed in a radial groove outside of the stationary ring. This method of installation allows direct contact between the back of the stationary ring and the pump housing.
This design of stationary promotes efficient heat transfer, from the seal faces via the seat ring, to the pump body, making it ideal for higher temperature media duties. The anti-rotation provision is recommended for this Vulcan Seals Type 32 Push-Fit “Block” Seats.


The Vulcan Seals Standard ‘O’-ring Mounted Seats, are common ‘O’-ring mounted designs without anti-rotation provision, to suit common European housing sizes including DIN.
These are industry standard stationaries, commonly specified for conical spring seals on general duties. Consideration should be given to using long-style stationaries, with anti-rotation provisions, should the conditions necessitate.


The Vulcan Seals Type 24 Short/Long ‘O’-ring Seats, are common ‘O’-ring mounted stationaries to suit DIN housing sizes, designed to provide a wide range of compatibility with Vulcan Seals rotary types.
The Type 24DIN Long has anti-rotation provision and is recommended particularly for larger shaft sizes and/or viscous media. On the other hand, the Type 24DIN Short is a standard short DIN seat with no pin slot.


The Vulcan Seals Type 16.PLUS S.P.X.® A.P.V.® is a specific design intended to suit S.P.X.® A.P.V.® W+® (World+) centrifugal pumps featuring 'O'-ring mounted seal faces mounted on a single spring unit.
The Vulcan Seals Type 16.PLUS S.P.X.® A.P.V.® face sets include a Silicon Carbide “short” rotary face, a Carbon or Silicon Carbide “long” stationary (with four drive slots), two ‘O’-rings and one rotary drive pin.
The static coil unit, with PTFE sleeve and drive plate, is available separately as part code Y-0XX0.16.PLUS.KIT where “XX” should be replaced by the relevant size.

The Vulcan Seals Type 16.DOUB S.P.X.® A.P.V.® is a specific design intended to suit S.P.X.® A.P.V.® W centrifugal pumps featuring flushed seal chambers and a double seal arrangement. Please note this does not include other Variants of the “W” Range. The seal incorporates an O-ring mounted positively driven rotary seal with a gasket mounted clamp-in-place stationary with flush provision and a Vulcan Seals Type 18 style outboard rotary.
The Vulcan Seals Type 16.DOUB S.P.X.® A.P.V.® is designed to replace the OEM double seal variant used in flushed pump configurations where a double seal arrangement is required.
For hygienic applications, FDA compliant materials are utilised on the media contacting components of the seal assembly, specifically the pump-side rotary seal and the dual-use stationary seal components, consistent with the material arrangements used in the standard Vulcan Seals Type 16 design.
The outboard drive-side rotary seal operates outside of the product wetted area and is only exposed to the external flush environment. As this component is not in contact with the process media, FDA compliance requirements apply only to the product-contacting components of the seal assembly.

The Vulcan Seals Type 16.DOUB S.P.X.® A.P.V.® is a direct replacement design to suit the original equipment, produced to Vulcan Seals’ manufacturing standards.


The Vulcan Seals Type 8DIN Short/Long ‘O’-ring Seats, are common ‘O’-ring mounted stationaries to suit Euro/ DIN housing sizes, designed to provide a wide range of compatibility with Vulcan Seals rotary seal types.
The Type 8DIN Long has an anti-rotation pin provision and is recommended particularly for larger shaft sizes and/ or viscous media. On the other hand, the Type 8DIN Short is a standard short Euro/DIN seat with no pin slot.


The flexible Gland Packing Extractors are designed to facilitate the removal of old packing of any size. The long flexible shank of the extractors makes access easy, even to those glands in the most awkward positions.
The hardened and tempered steel screw end is designed to give maximum penetration into the packing.


Accurately cut and **Preformed Gland Packing Rings **allow for easy and time-saving installation, as well as the consistency of sealing performance.
We can manufacture preformed rings to your specific dimensional and application requirements. Minimum order quantities and mould fees apply.
The 45° scarf cut and preformed shape of each ring improves sealing compression and performance, without the need to cut or prepare each ring yourself.


The Vulcan Seals Type VF225 is a square braided gland packing manufactured from natural hemp fibre, impregnated with PTFE and lubricant.
It is designed for general service and utility sealing duties, offering good conformability, low friction characteristics, and reliable performance in clean and mildly contaminated aqueous services.
The PTFE impregnation improves lubrication, reduces frictional heat, and supports smoother start-up while maintaining stable compression behaviour in service.


The Vulcan Seals Type VF4 is a PTFE-impregnated jute fibre braided packing engineered for general service sealing duties in pumps, valves, and reciprocating equipment. The natural jute fibre construction provides good conformability and gland sealing efficiency, while PTFE impregnation reduces friction, improves start-up behaviour, and limits wear on shafts and sleeves.
The Vulcan Seals Type VR4 is suitable for use in clean aqueous and general utility services operating within moderate chemical exposure and temperature limits. It offers a cost-effective sealing solution for industrial utilities where controlled leakage, ease of installation, and stable packing performance are required.


The Vulcan Seals Type VT5 is a square-braided gland packing manufactured from ramie natural fibre, impregnated with PTFE lubricant.
The ramie fibre construction provides mechanical behaviour and conformability like traditional asbestos-based packings, allowing the packing to bed-in effectively, maintain sealing integrity, and accommodate shaft or sleeve irregularities commonly found in legacy equipment. PTFE impregnation enhances lubrication, reducing friction, heat generation, and wear on shafts and sleeves.
The Vulcan Seals Type VT5 is particularly well suited as a modern, non-asbestos replacement for legacy asbestos gland packings used in pumps and valves, offering a practical upgrade path during maintenance and refurbishment without requiring design or hardware changes.
Designed for general-purpose pump and valve sealing, the Vulcan Seals Type VT5 performs reliably in water-based and mildly chemical services under moderate pressures and temperatures.


The Vulcan Seals Type VC6 is a white cotton-based gland packing manufactured from high-quality flax (cotton) fibres, thoroughly impregnated with PTFE dispersion and internal lubricants.
The PTFE impregnation reduces friction and improves chemical resistance, while the lubricated cotton structure provides excellent conformability and heat dissipation through controlled media absorption. This construction allows the Vulcan Seals Type VC6 to maintain a soft, pliable sealing face, helping to minimise shaft wear and ensure consistent sealing performance.
The Vulcan Seals Type VC6 is designed for general-purpose industrial duties, particularly where mildly abrasive or lubricating media are present.


The Vulcan Seals Type VR31 is a high-performance braided gland packing manufactured from flexible expanded graphite yarn, reinforced with Inconel wire to enhance pressure resistance and dimensional stability.
The expanded graphite structure provides excellent thermal conductivity, chemical resistance, and self-lubricating properties, while the metallic reinforcement improves resistance to extrusion under high pressure and elevated temperature conditions.
The Vulcan Seals Type VR31 is designed primarily for static and valve sealing duties in demanding industrial services, where long service life, thermal stability, and controlled leakage are required.


The Vulcan Seals Type VR3 is a braided gland packing manufactured from high-purity expanded graphite yarn, reinforced with fibreglass carrier yarns to provide improved structural integrity and extrusion resistance under pressure.
