Vulcan Seals Silicon Carbide

Renowned for its excellent material properties, Silicon Carbide is used in a vast variety of applications that require exceptional material hardness, strength and a low coefficient of friction, while being highly resistant to heat, abrasion and corrosion.

Vulcan Seals Silicon Carbide is formulated to maximise the effects of these properties and is available in varying grades and manufactured into finished products.

In-House Production

Vulcan Seals manufacture in-house our own high-quality Silicon Carbide materials from powder processing, moulding, firing, machining, grinding and lapping through to creating the end products.

We have the production capability to meet high volume demands made to the tightest tolerances and surface finishes.

Silicon Carbide Grades

Standard Grades:
VES2™: Reaction Bonded Silicon Carbide
WNV2™: Sintered Silicon Carbide

Advanced Grades:
WHV2™: Sintered Silicon Carbide Graphite Loaded
CPV1™: Porous Sintered Silicon Carbide

Advanced grades have great advantages in certain applications. As an example, WHV2™ has reduced coefficient of friction and CPV1™ has the ability to absorb media material to aid seal face lubrication. Available on all seals instead of standard grades subject to request and minimum order quantities.
