Vulcan VT2 is braided from pure Poly Acrylic Nitrile (PAN) fibres which are the basis of the outstanding capabilities and performance of our PAN fibre packing.

To maximise the performance of this remarkable synthetic fibre, VT2 is thoroughly impregnated, yarn by yarn, with heavy PTFE dispersion and further treated with special lubricants.

Type VT2 has been specially designed to replace traditional packing, giving an enhanced performance without the shaft wear problems or the elevated costs of other synthetic fibres.

VT2 is a true, high specification, process industry packing. The combination of an exceptional packing fibre with advanced lubrication, gives a clean, smooth running packing, for extended life even at high shaft speeds and pressures within a wide pH and temperature range.

Type VT2 standard spool length is 8 metres, aside from cross-section sizes 3mm and 5mm where the standard length is 30 metres. Custom lengths can be available - please contact us using the form.

Applications: Suitable for a wide variety of process plant applications including pumps, valves, mixers, reactor vessels and reciprocating applications. Resistant to general chemicals, solvents, oils, water and steam. A wide-ranging packing, for use in arduous process applications, especially where alternative packing contaminates, causes excessive wear or requires frequent maintenance and replacement. VT2 does not contaminate nor stain, making it particularly suitable for use in the food, water and paper industries.
